My spouse and I will sometimes plan to have dinner here on formal night if we don’t feel like packing dress clothes for the cruise. Your dinner also includes a tribute to animation – Undersea Magic features interactive digital animation of the Finding Nemo characters in a show that’s reminiscent of EPCOT’s Turtle Talk with Crush. It’s a fun digital twist on the usual concept of dining with Disney characters. These staterooms have no porthole window and no balcony, but on this ship they do have so-called “magical portholes.” These are circular video screens which offer live video views of the outside, along with occasional character sightings. The Disney Dream has 1,250 staterooms, most of which offer an outside view via either a porthole window or a verandah balcony. There are four primary types of staterooms on the ship; each of those four types is further divided into multiple categories and subcategories.
Inside Cabin
These are the smallest rooms on the ship, so even though they technically can sleep up to four, they’re not all that roomy if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room. In addition to the suites, there are also Concierge Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandahs. These aren’t quite as spacious as the suites, but they are roomier than normal staterooms and come with the same Concierge Services — including Pre-Arrival Services. You’ll also have access to the Concierge Lounge, with complimentary food and nonalcoholic drinks.
This is the Most Expensive Stateroom You Can Book on a Disney Cruise
During the day, it welcomes cruisers of all ages for games, activities, and dance classes. At night, it evolves into a vibrant adults-only nightclub with a lively bar scene. It’s not buffet style at night; a server will present you with a menu and bring your food to you, and it’s usually a rather quiet meal.

This includes at least three Broadway-style shows during your cruise, along with other additions (such as family-friendly comedians, magicians, and hypnotists) on longer voyages. This secure facility is accessible only to kids aged 3-10 and trained youth activities staff — but there are pre-scheduled open houses to allow parents and kids to tour the location together. Inside there are tons of kid-friendly spaces and activities, and it’s all included in the cost of your Disney cruise! This amazing kids club is one of the reasons we consider Disney to be the best cruise line for children.

Décor is classic and elegant, with wood finishes and art deco details. You might choose to watch a Disney animated classic, or maybe a Star Wars or Marvel flick. You never know… your sailing just might feature a first-run Disney feature film at sea! “Funnel Vision” on the pool deck shows movies on the big screen, too.
Staterooms
Category 11 staterooms are the most basic offered on the Disney Dream. The cabin has a queen-size bed, single convertible sofa, and one bathroom with sink, toilet, and tub/shower. Like the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic (which each have a nursery called Flounder's Reef), the Disney Dream cruise ship has a nursery for infants and tots age 3 months to 3 years.
There are two types of Oceanview Staterooms, but only one category features verandahs or balconies. These rooms are pretty spacious, though they are only one room technically unlike the Concierge Suites. Oceanview Verandah rooms sleep 3 to 5 guests depending on the type of room.
Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms, found on Decks 6 through 9, are a bit roomier at 241 square feet and can sleep up to five people. It’s generally well-known that food is a big part of the cruise experience, and the Disney Dream is no exception. With three sensational main dining restaurants, two elegant adult-only dining options, multiple lounges/nightclubs, and plenty of places to grab a quick meal or a snack on the go, you certainly won’t go hungry onboard this ship. Cruise Critic is not a booking agent and does not charge any service fees to users of our site. When you book with one of our partners, please be sure to check their site for a full disclosure of all applicable fees as required by the U.S. If having a balcony or ocean view isn’t important to you, an Inside Stateroom might be just the thing.
To keep track of what’s happening when and where, be sure to download the free Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before your cruise. D Lounge, for example, is the place to be for family fun with events like game shows and trivia, dance parties, and more. Additional treats — including scoops from a Gelato Bar — are available for extra purchase at Vanellope’s Sweets & Treats, a charming spot themed to Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph. Animator’s Palate is an innovative restaurant where the show is drawings coming to life on screens all around you.

The Oceaneer Lab is another area on the Disney Dream for kids age three to ten, and it's connected to the Oceaneer Club by two Workshops. The two Workshops, meanwhile, are used for hands-on fun, such as science labs, art projects, or trying out some culinary skills. We’re getting ready to set sail on our newest adventure with DCL Magazine! Our team is doing research, preparing layouts and capturing stunning photos of the entire fleet as we work towards launching our next magazine, dedicated to celebrating Disney Cruise Line. Lastly, you won’t want to skip all of the entertainment found onboard the Disney Dream.
Breakfast is exactly what you’d expect from an American perspective – custom-made omelets, bacon & sausage, Mickey Waffles, hash browns, and the like. There are also some international offerings such as rice and miso soup. For me, this is always a great chance to expand my culinary horizons with things I can’t normally get at home. My usual morning fare on the ship includes a giant healthy bowl of fresh muesli with dried fruits and nuts — admittedly usually with a few Mickey Waffles and bacon on the side (it’s all about the balance, you know). This restaurant offers a mix of American, Asian, and European favorites in an all-you-care-to-eat breakfast and lunch buffet served from nearly a dozen food stations.
Lastly, no guest will want to miss the pool deck on the Disney Dream! For adults, Senses Spa & Salon and Rejuvenation Spa both offer relaxing experiences and services that’ll make your sailing a total treat. Plus, there are adults-only bars and lounges to check out (complete with dancing, drinks, and live sports). Disney Dream Category 7a staterooms (officially known as Deluxe Oceanview staterooms with Navigator Verandah) typically have a smaller balcony or one with an obstructed view. Also, while a bathtub is perfect for young children, the rounded tub bottom feels more slippery than the flat floors of typical cruise ship showers.
This is one of my absolute favorite things to do onboard the Disney Dream. I just love enjoying a game of mini-golf out on the open ocean, and the sight gags just add to it. Vewy sewious mini-golfers will appreciate that each hole offers two tee locations — one just for fun and one for a slightly more challenging experience. It’s the place where your kids will probably spend most of their time onboard. For some families, it’s not uncommon for the kids and adults to part ways at breakfast and regroup at dinner, with the Kids Club filling the gap between. A serene oasis for those 18 and up to get away from the kids for some quiet time.
Like most staterooms, the price for these rooms is entirely dependent upon where you’re sailing and how long your cruise will be. A 3-night cruise on the Disney Dream can start at around $1,459, but a longer cruise could be priced more like $4,051. Of course traditional character meet and greets are also offered on board!
